My Louis Vuitton Bag

I recently found the American Express card statement for the purchase of my Louis Vuitton bag that I purchased in the spring of 2004. I cannot believe that I spent that much money on one bag.  I remember it being a sunny Saturday afternoon. I also remember feeling nauseous and weak in the knees after making the purchase.

In 2007 on my trip to Paris I had to visit the new Louis Vuitton store on the Champs-Elysées. It was amazing. I was quite tempted to make a purchase, but I decided that I did not need another Louis Vuitton.

However, after 8 years I am still using the bag. That cannot be said for many bags that I have purchased over the years and then given away.

Out of all of the bags that I own the Louis Vuitton Speedy 30 can hold the most items and still not feel heavy. This is very important to me as I carry a lot in my bags as my chiropractor can attest to. It is also a bag that I can use all year round. I am paranoid about getting rain, salt or snow on my bags. I do not regret the purchase now. Would I spend that much money on a bag again...probably not unless I won the lottery.

Is That Real?

Today I went to see the doctor because I have not feeling well. The first words out of her mouth as we walking into her office was "Is that real?" She was referring to my Louis Vuitton bag. I could not believe that of all people, a doctor would ask me that question. I had to laugh. She said "that cost half of my tuition." She was exaggerating just a bit!!!

It was not the first time that I have been asked this question. I have had the bag for almost six years. I do not know why people are so interested. I did not put any thought into the bag I was carrying today. I grabbed this bag because it already had the essentials in it (wallet, keys, cellphone, etc...).

My Louis Vuitton Speedy 30 comes very close to being the perfect bag.
