I decided one day to setup an account on Tumblr. I was not sure what I would post on the site. I decided that I would post pictures of bags and anything else that I find interesting.

Sometimes I have ideas for a post and then I forget about it. Now that I have my new iPhone I can easily post pictures on the go.

The site is called le sac de dame. It translates to bag lady.

There is now a new app for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad - Sephora to Go. I downloaded it this morning. I was quite happy that I was able to access my account on my iPod Touch. Great new app!!!

iPad vs. iPhone

I love my iPod Touch, but I really want an iPhone. The reason that I have not purchased one yet is that I am currently in a 3 year contract with my cellphone provider. I have 11 months left on the contract.

The only difference that I can see between the iPod Touch and the iPhone is the internet service and camera. I am able to access the internet and email using Wi-Fi. The only thing that would stop me from getting an iPhone would be the monthly costs. I have a great plan. I only pay $28.25 a month including tax. I really don't want to pay more.

When I heard that Apple was going to announce a new product I was very excited. There were rumours that it would be tablet device. When I read that the device was called the iPad I could not believe the name and size of the product. It definitely was named by a man. Secondly, the size of the iPad was shocking. We actually pulled out rulers to see how long 9.7 inches was. It did not seem practical for travelling on a crowded bus or subway. 

The iPad was released last weekend in the United States. My interest has grown again. In the past week I have been asked whether I planned to purchase the iPad. Others seemed more interested in the product than I did. 

It would make sense for surfing the internet or watching videos. However, I would not use it for reading books. Personally I like reading books on paper, turning the pages and reviewing the front and back covers. 

I cannot purchase both the iPhone and the iPad. I have some time to think about it. When the iPad comes to Canada I will visit the Apple store to play around with it. Until then I will continue to enjoy my iPod Touch.

I have added a new page to the blog called Fashion & Beauty Apps. It is for those of you who use an iPhone or iPod Touch.  If you are like me, then you like to be able to access info on the go. The applications can be found in the App Store in iTunes.

I probably have more applications on my iPod Touch than anybody I know that owns an iPod Touch or iPhone. Most of them are free.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

The Good:

Yesterday I purchased these boots at Winners. They are Warmbat Australia Kangaroo Classic Boots. They cost $49.99. Great price. I have not worn them yet, but they feel very comfortable.

The Bad:

I have been waiting one month for this day. Today was supposed to be the day that I purchased an iPhone. I went to the Telus store after work. I was told that because I was in the middle of my 3 year contract that I could not get the phone under my current contract, but would have to purchase it at full price.

iPhone 3GS 32GB - $299.00 3 year contract        $799.00 no contract

I was told that I would have to contact customer service to see if I qualified for a credit. Unfortunately, I am only eligiblie for a $150 credit at this time. I was told to call back in a couple of months to see if I was eligible for a further credit.

The Ugly:

Me...after finding out that I was not getting the iPhone today.

iPhone Envy

I have wanted the iPhone since the first time I heard about it. I have not purchased one yet as I am stuck in a 3 year plan that ends in 2011. This week it was finally announced that the other telecom companies in Canada, Bell Canada and Telus Mobility will start selling the iPhone in November 2009.  My current plan is with Telus and I did not want to break my contract.

The other reason I did not go out and buy the iPhone was the cost of the plans. I currently pay $28.25 a month including taxes for my cellphone.

Instead of a new bag for my birthday, I may get the iPhone.

iPhone 3G S

Apple is always coming out with new products. I am a fan. I love my Macbook and my iPods. I always wanted to get the iPhone. The iPhone was not available in Canada until 2008. I was stuck in a 3 year contract with my cellphone company. I decided to get the iPod Touch which is very similar to the iPhone, except it does not have the phone or camera. I can access my email or internet where ever there is a wireless connection.

On my trip I noticed that there were a lot of people in London and Paris that owned the iPhone. I really want it, but I do not want to pay the high voice and data plans. Right now I pay $28.25 for my cellphone (including taxes, network and access fees).

Now that it a 32GB version is available, it is looking more attractive.

Griffin Navigate

Griffin Navigate sounds like a model of a car. It is actually a cool gadget that I saw yesterday at Future Shop. I am always looking for something new. I wanted to check it out on the internet before I considered purchasing it. It is an inline controller and FM Radio for iPhone and iPod.

Shop the latest fashions and the best brands right from your iPhone or iPod Touch with ShopStyle Mobile.

Another application for bag lovers is iBags that is also from ShopStyle.

I am a shopaholic who not only loves shopping for handbags and beauty products, but I am also a tech geek. I found this amazing website that tracks the newest iPhone and iPod touch application updates and price changes in iTunes. I have added the RSS feed to my email application which I check constantly.

30 day challenge is over

The 30 day challenge is finally over. I did not buy any new bags in the month of July. I actually gave three bags away.

The following is what I was able to do during the month:

1) I read a good book Twilight by Stephenie Meyer and I am reading the next book in the series New Moon.

2) I got a manicure at B.Skin event, but I did not let my nails dry and my nails smudged.

3) Took a knitting class at Americo Original. I am knitting myself a bag.

4) Took my SLR camera out of the closet. It is very big and heavy. I have not purchased film yet.

5) Still need to find a bathing suit.

6) I took another yoga class using the Passport to Prana. I would like to take another hot yoga class.

7) I did not purchase the iPhone. I am happy with my iPod Touch.

Task for August - search for the perfect bag!!!!!!!!!

30 Day Challenge

July 1st is Canada Day, but the other significance of the day is that I will start a 30-day challenge to not purchase a new bag. Yes, I know there are actually 31 days in July. June has been a very pricey month. I am a person with no will power. I will try to devote the month to improving myself. An addict knows when they must make changes in their life. I will have to find other ways to spend my time and not obsessing about the search for the perfect bag. I just hope I don't pick up another bad habit.

Things to do to pass the time:

1) Read a good book.

2) Get a $5.00 manicure at B.Skin 2nd anniversary event and to indulge in some cupcakes.

3) Take a knitting class at Americo Original to learn how to make something besides scarves.

4) Get my old SLR camera out of the closet and learn how to use it again.

5) Find a bathing suit for my vacation in the fall.

6) Take more yoga classes using my Passport to Prana pass.

7) Do not buy the iPhone when it is available for sale in Canada on July 11th.

FIGHT TEMPTATION - I WILL BE RICHER FOR IT (IN THE WALLET)!!!!!!!
