RECALL: You're Now A V.I.B.

I received the following message from Sephora yesterday morning:

Due to an technical error, you received a Very Important Beauty Insider (V.I.B.) welcome email offering 10% off.
Regretfully, we would like to clarify that you have not yet qualified for Very Important Beauty Insider status this year.

However, we would like to honor the 10% off discount in stores as an apology for the inconvenience.
Bring a printout of this email into a store now through January 28, 2010.

If you are interested in V.I.B.—and more perks like these—here's how to qualify for the program:

-Spend $350 at a Sephora store in one calendar year (January-December).

-You will automatically earn V.I.B. Status for the current year and the next.

Again, we sincerely apologize for the mix-up.
Thank you,
Sephora Customer Service

I wonder if they read my post. That was a nice gesture.

I Am Not a V.I.B

I did not get a chance to read my emails earlier this week, but I glanced at the subject lines. I received an email from Sephora a couple of days ago that read "You're now a V.I.B - celebrate with 10% off".  Well I opened the email today and in red letters the email stated WERE SORRY, you received this email in error. Please disregard. Cruel joke.

If you shop at Sephora you have probably have been asked whether you are a Beauty Insider at the checkout. It is free to join. You earn one point for every dollar spent.

V.I.B. (Very Important Beauty Insider) is the premium level for beauty insiders.  In addition to the rewards that you get as a beauty insider, you also get free deluxe samples, exclusive monthly perks, pre-released products, and more. I currently have 407 points in my Beauty Bank. According to the website you have to spend $350 at a Sephora store or online in a calendar year (January to December)  and you automatically earn V.I.B. status for that year and the next.

Actually I thought that  I was already a V.IB., so maybe the email was sent in error. Either way I really should not be spending money on cosmetics. I still have to make my list of all the bath & beauty products. It will take time.

After I updated the post I found an email from Sephora that stated that I was an official V.I.B through 12/31/2011. It had a store coupon attached to redeem. Maybe I will try to use it. It is valid  now through February 19, 2010.
